Opulent Mobility (Teen booklist)

Brand Library & Art Center is proud to present Opulent Mobility, curated by founder A. Laura Brody and Anthony Tusler in collaboration with students from Glendale Unified School District (GUSD). This exhibition features Southern California-based artists with artworks in a variety of media including sculpture, painting, video, audio and fiber. It is more crucial than ever to share art and stories that offer an opportunity for others to understand and appreciate disability culture and the challenges that disabled populations face. Uplifting and celebrating disabled artists and disability art counters the far too common and dangerous perspective that dismisses the value of disabled lives. Reflecting the themes of the exhibit, this booklist shares both real stories and fictional narratives of those living with a disability. Find these books across Glendale Library, Arts & Culture locations.
