"Do you believe it is acceptable for women to initiate dates with men?" Well, absolutely. Mark "A" on that. A hilarious, earnest friendship plus develops between almost octogenarian Maude (Ruth Gordon) and death-obsessed rich kid Harold (Bud Cort). Honorable mention to Harold's mother (Vivian Pickles)--the scene where she's answering a dating questionnaire for the "computer dating service" for her son kills me every time. Good vibes, good tunes (Cat Stevens!), good death.
